ALTAR’s Leytonstone opening party: free entry and what to check

ALTAR opens on October 23 with Simian Mobile Disco. Its launch party is free and first come, first served; later events have separate entry arrangements.

ALTAR opens in Leytonstone on Friday October 23, with a DJ set from Simian Mobile Disco. The venue’s original announcement says the launch party is free and operates on a first-come, first-served basis. That policy applies to the opening night, not automatically to every event in its programme.

The venue is at 7 Church Lane, Leytonstone, London E11 4HG. Its ground floor combines a neighbourhood bar and record shop, while the basement hosts music and other events. The official website describes the basement as a 100-capacity space; that is not a stated capacity for the whole building.

For later visits, check the individual event rather than assuming the launch policy carries over. ALTAR says its basement programme will include both ticketed and free events. Its October 14 announcement also distinguishes tickets for selected shows from the free opening party. Neither statement guarantees entry or establishes that every later show is currently on sale.

Before travelling, use the venue’s official information linked below to confirm opening-party hours, age restrictions and accessibility arrangements. Those details were not established in the announcement and venue information checked for this guide. ALTAR lists music@altar-east.com for event questions and hello@altar-east.com as its general contact. Free, first-come entry should not be read as a reserved place.
