Brad Mehldau’s Fantasy for Piano: scrolling score and November album

The new score video is separate from last month’s first two Reveries. Here are the official viewing routes, short album samples and November 13 release details.

Brad Mehldau’s Fantasy for Piano now has a label-announced scrolling-score video. Nonesuch shared it on October 13, ahead of Fantasy & Reveries, due November 13, 2026. For the new piece, use the Fantasy for Piano video linked below; the two Reveries videos alongside it are earlier previews, not three newly released tracks.

The distinction matters if you are following the album before release. Nonesuch says Reveries 1 and 2 came out last month, and its October announcement brings all three scrolling-score videos together. Those viewing links let you choose the specific piece rather than landing on an album preorder when you want the new video. VibeHype verified the label’s video links and the Fantasy video’s title and channel metadata, but did not test playback or regional access.

The album has two parts: Fantasy for Piano and fourteen numbered Reveries, all performed by Mehldau on piano. Nonesuch lists Fantasy at 11 minutes 12 seconds. Its album notes say Jeremy Denk commissioned the piece, which Mehldau wrote during the same period as Three Pieces After Bach. Mehldau describes Fantasy as densely written; for the Reveries, he says he chose concise expressions of feeling instead of developing ideas across a larger form. That is the composer’s explanation, not a listening verdict from VibeHype.

For a quick audio sample rather than a score video, the label’s album page links three preview files for Fantasy and Reveries 1 and 2, each identified as a 30-second sample. Those short previews are separate from the YouTube viewing routes and do not establish full-album streaming. The inspected pages advertise scrolling scores, but did not establish a downloadable or printable sheet-music offer.

For release and buying options, follow the label-linked Fantasy & Reveries chooser. It directs the official-store option to Nonesuch’s album page as a preorder, while also offering music-service links. The November 13 album date is distinct from October’s new video. A service button is not proof that the unreleased album plays in full; VibeHype has not tested checkout, download delivery or country-by-country availability.
