Tortoise’s Night Gang: where to hear Carl Stone’s remix and the original
Carl Stone’s remix arrived October 14. Compare its official listening and download routes with the five-minute original on Tortoise’s 2025 album Touch.
Tortoise’s Night Gang now has a Carl Stone remix, released October 14, 2026. The new version is a separate digital track, not a new edition of the original album recording. For the remix, follow the official music-service chooser linked below; for the earlier version, use the Touch album listing on International Anthem’s Bandcamp page.
The titles are similar, but the listings make the distinction clear. Nonesuch gives the Carl Stone remix a running time of 3:07. The original Night Gang is track ten on Touch and runs 5:00. Touch is a 2025 album: Nonesuch’s release notes distinguish its October 24 LP, CD and download date from its November 11 streaming date. Neither of those album dates is the release date of today’s remix.
For a service you already use, the label-linked remix chooser offers routes including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube and Bandcamp. Those links identify the Carl Stone version. VibeHype checked the chooser and the label’s product listings, but did not test audio playback, account requirements or availability in each country. We have not listened to the recording for a review.
For a downloadable copy, the remix’s Bandcamp listing displays a minimum price of $1.50 USD and advertises MP3, FLAC and other formats, including a 24-bit/48kHz download. It says a purchase includes streaming through the Bandcamp app. Nonesuch’s separate listing displays $1.29 for MP3 and $1.39 for 48kHz/24-bit FLAC. These are the offers shown when checked on October 14, not checkout-tested totals or a promise about fees and availability.
If you want the original alongside the remix, the Touch Bandcamp page lists the full digital album at $9.99 USD or more, with a 24-bit/44.1kHz download. That album purchase and the separate remix purchase are different products. The new track’s credits name Stone as producer and remix engineer and David Allen as mastering engineer. Nonesuch says Stone made the reworking in a Shanghai hotel during his September 2026 Chinese tour; that creation period is distinct from the October release.
